Transport authority has awarded five deals for Expo road access totalling more than $600m
Dubais Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded three contracts for the construction of interchanges serving the Expo 2020 site in Dubai.
The contractors that have been awarded the three contracts are Beijing-based China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the local Al-Naboodah Contracting Company, and the local Wade Adams Contracting.
China State has been awarded the estimated AED605m ($165m) Package 2, Al-Naboodah has been awarded the estimated AED600m Package 3, and Wade Adams has been awarded the estimated AED630m Package 4.
In early July, the RTA awarded the first two contracts serving the Expo site to L&T. The contracts are estimated to be worth about AED1.028bn ($280m) combined.
The Expo site, which is opposite Dubai Investments Park on the Jebel Ali to Lehbab Road, will also be served by the Route 2020 metro line.
