Arabtec was awarded contract to build UAE pavilion in early July
Local developer Emaar Properties has invited contractors to bid by 21 September for the construction of two pavilions at the Expo 2020 site in Dubai.
The contracts cover the Mobility and Sustainability pavilions.
Emaar invited companies to bid in June for a package covering the enabling and foundations works for the two pavilions.
The UKs Laing ORourke is providing pre-construction services for both pavilions. Emaar is the development manager.
Architects won design competitions for the two pavilions in 2016. The UKs Foster + Partners won the competition for the contract to design the Mobility pavilion, while Grimshaw Architects, also of the UK, submitted the winning entry for the Sustainability pavilion.
In July, local contractor Arabtec Construction was awarded the contract to build and operate the UAE Pavilion. Abu Dhabis Masdar is the development manager for that project.
