UK consultant will provide project management services for large mixed-use development

The UK’s Faithful+Gould has been awarded a contract to provide project management services for a new mixed-use development in Qatar.

The UK firm will provide project management office (PMO) services for four of the main components of the 460,000-square-metre Doha Oasis development in Qatar. The client is the local Halul Real Estate Investment Company.

The project will consist of 14 nine-storey buildings, which will contain penthouses and 245 apartments. The mixed-use podium will contain housing, retail facilities, a theme park, food court, cinema and cafes.

The theme park will be located in the central area of the podium, and will contain 26 or more different rides and attractions. The development will also contain a seven-star hotel, which will have 28 floors, six restaurants, gym, indoor pool and business centre.

Earlier this year, Faithful+Gould said it was planning to focus its business, including operations in the Middle East, on integrated project and programme management services

The strategy will aim to have more than 3,000 staff delivering 70 per cent of the company’s business outside of the UK. The first part of the new direction was seen in Faithful+Gould’s purchase last year of Confluence, which created one of the most active project management and cost management consultancies in the Middle East.
