The local Fast Contracting Company has submitted a low bid of SR 295.5 million ($79 million) for the contract to carry out a major renovation and expansion of the Municipal & Rural Affairs Ministry (M&RAM) complex in Riyadh's Mazzar area. Five local companies submitted bids by 16 July for the two-year contract,with Saudi Turais Companycoming in second on price at SR 324.7 million ($86 million). The project involves the construction of two 13-storey offices, an additional floor to the ministerial building, a four-level car park and related facilities with a total built-up area of 62,000 square metres. The design consultant is Germany's Werner Voss & Partner Architects & Engineers. At present, the M&RAM complex comprises five office towers and a main ministerial office (MEED 17:6:05).
