Fibrex and Thinet to start work on Material City roads

The local/French joint venture of Fibrex and Thinet Emirates has been given notice to proceed on the infrastructure and roads construction package for the Building Materials City project in Abu Dhabi emirate.

The AED131m ($36m) package involves the construction of roads and the installation of services for the AED3bn project that covers an area of 230,000 square metres at Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed City, close to the Mussafah industrial area.

The Fibrex/Thinet joint venture is already working on the first phase of building works that involve the construction of a 100,000-square-metre mall and two office towers. Once complete the project will have 17 office buildings of 20 floors, 32 residential towers also with 20 floors and a four- star hotel.

The client is the local Manazel Real Estate.
