The opening of the first phase of Dubai World Central, the world's biggest airport, is behind schedule because of delays in construction, the head of Dubai Airports told Bloomberg. Paul Griffiths, Dubai Airports CEO, said DWC will open in 2010 instead of before the end of this year due to 'a number of factors mostly relating to the readiness of infrastructure and the capability of Dubai International to more than cope with existing traffic'. The airport's first of the six runways was scheduled to open last year.
