Solid state storage has the potential to be a disruptive technology in the storage sector. Speaking at a Storage Network Industry Association event in Dubai, Evangelos Eleftheriou, an IBM Fellow, said that its input/output speed and cost per gigabyte makes it an attractive technology for the future. The challenge, he added, is whether it continue to scale in capacity size.
