Flydubai to fly to third Egyptian destination

23 May 2010

The low-cost carrier will fly to Assiut from 24 May

Dubai’s budget carrier Flydubai is scheduled to begin flights to its third Egyptian destination Assiut on 24 May.

Assiut is about 375 kilometres south of Cairo. The carrier started flights to Luxor on 20 May.

Luxor was Flydubai’s second location in Egypt following the launch of flights to Alexandria in 2009.

Luxor is a popular destination for tourists who visit the city for its historical monuments and artefacts such as Valley of the Kings and the temple of Karnak.

Flydubai is also launching flights to Lucknow, its first route in India, in June. The airline is aiming to start a number of new routes into India in the future and will remain in discussions with the Indian authorities (MEED 11:5:10).

In line with its expansions flights, the carrier will also begin flights to Istanbul, Latakia and Karachi in June.
