SPIE Oil & Gas to provide commissioning management and support services on Clean Fuels Project

France’s SPIE Oil & Gas Services has been awarded a five-year contract by Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) for commissioning management and support services.

The services will be provided at both the Mina al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries under the scope of work of the under-execution Clean Fuels Project (CFP), SPIE said.

The CFP encompasses increasing the combined capacities of both refineries and enhancing the production of cleaner fuels value-added products through “bottom of barrel processing”.

Three engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) packages worth a total of $12bn were awarded on the CFP over the course of 2014.
