France's TechnipFMC has formally confirmed that its consortium with state-owned Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE) has secured a spot in Saudi Aramco’s group of offshore contractors with which its has long-term agreements (LTAs).
It was earlier reported that Aramco has chosen four new entities to enter the LTA pool.
Aramco early last year began a process of expanding its LTA pool of contractors, beyond the initial five entities, keeping in mind the increased volume of offshore work it has planned to tender in the coming years, as part of its 10-year capital expenditure budget.
The four new parties Aramco has selected to be part of the LTA group are:
- Lamprell (UAE/UK) / Royal Boskalis Westminster (The Netherlands)
- Sapura Energy (Malaysia)
- TechnipFMC (France) / MMHE (Malaysia)
- China Offshore Oil Engineering Company (China)
All the new entrants have now officially confirmed securing places within the LTA group.
"This [long-term] agreement, valid for six years, covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation and installation of offshore facilities for the development of Saudi Aramco’s offshore projects," TechnipFMC said in a statement.
