29 August 2011

Local company Alsa Engineering submitted lowest bid

The UAE-based Alsa Engineering is the frontrunner for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract on the acid gas flare system at the Habshan gas processing and distribution hub in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (Gasco) received a $35m bid from Alsa, which is about 10 per cent lower that the $39m price submitted by Pakistan’s Descon.

The other bidders are Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), the UAE-based Dodsal, India’s Punj Lloyd, and France’s Technip.

Australia’s WorleyParsons is conducting the front-end engineering and design work for the project. Tebodin of the Netherlands has been tasked with the project management consultancy (MEED 8:4:11).
