Fishing port deal covers work at Duqm economic zone
The local Galfar Engineering & Contracting says it has been awarded a RO61m ($158m) contract for the construction of a fishery port in Duqm.
The contract involves building a port and related roadworks at Duqm. Galfar says the contract duration is 30 months with a six-month mobilisation period. It was awarded by the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (Sezad).
Galfar says it has also received an arbitration award of about RO3.6 in one of four arbitration proceedings between the company, Oman Wastewater Services Company and Haya Water. The remaining disputes are currently under arbitration in separate proceedings.
