Petroleum Development Oman to install GEs progressive cavity pump equipment
US-based GE Oil & Gas has signed an agreement with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to provide progressing cavity pump equipment (PCP) and related services.
The equipment will be installed at the Nimr field in PDOs Block 6 onshore oil field concession.
GE will sub-contract services to Local Community Contractors (LCC) that will be trained in the various aspects of PCP services.
The US group said it had also entered an agreement with local partner Edgo to provide specialised equipment and ensure maintenance for a number of inherited PCP systems and supervise the use of these systems in well interventions.
