GE wins long-term gas services contract

US group to provide maintenance at UAE gas group’s Das Island facilities

US-based GE Oil & Gas has been awarded a long-term services agreement by Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (Adgas) to increase plant productivity and efficiency at the company’s plant in Abu Dhabi.

The contract was awarded to Nuovo Pignone, a legal entity of GE Oil & Gas, the New York-listed company announced.

Under the contract GE Oil & Gas will support the full maintenance, including supply of parts, repair and services and the provision of a resident team, for GE Frame 5 2D gas turbines as well as associated centrifugal compressors.

GE Oil & Gas will also provide training for a number of Adgas engineers.

Adgas is processes and exports liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its operations on Das Island in the Gulf.
