Dubai-based private equity firm Gulf Capital has acquired a majority stake in crew supply and logistics group OCB Oilfield Services.

OCB, which is also based in Dubai, supplies rig crews for offshore oil and gas drilling companies operating in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.

Gulf Capital plans to expand the company’s focus from jack-up rigs to include catering services, crew training and construction platforms, as well as moving into onshore facilities.

OCB services about 20 per cent of the estimated 35-40 significant offshore rig operators worldwide, says Gulf Capital.
