Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has awarded Gulf District Cooling Ascon (GDC) the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contract for a 40,000-refrigeration-tonne district cooling plant at Dubai’s Business Bay Executive Towers development.
The MEP contract is valued at $54m. The full scope of work for the district cooling project includes the construction of a chilled water generation plant, and the installation of metering and monitoring systems for the towers.
The project is expected to be completed in 15 months. Early capacity is expected to be operational within 12 months.
