Gulf investors plan aluminium extrusion plant in Algeria

07 September 2008
Saudi-based Construction Products Holding Company (CPC) and Dubai-based Alumco have formed a joint venture to set up an aluminium extrusion factory in Algeria.

The new factory will cover an area of 100,000 square metres and have an initial production capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year.

Construction of the factory is expected to begin in six months, with a further nine required for completion.

Capital for the project is expected to reach AED100m ($27).

In January this year, Alumco won a $22m contract to provide the aluminium facades for the Vision Tower project at Dubai's Business Bay (MEED 13:01:08).
