Gulf Projects 21 December 2009: Index rises 2.2 per cent

The MEED Projects index recorded a growth of 2.2 per cent in the value of projects planned or under way across the region in the week to 21 December.

The UAE was the strongest market among the six GCC states, with growth of 4.7 per cent.

Qatar was the only country to suffer a decline, with the value of projects dropping by 0.5 per cent to $229m.

However, many markets remained unchanged, with activity in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Iran flat.
