Bahrain was the fastest riser this week, the value of its projects growing by 3.9 per cent to $38.6bn. An additional $1.2bn worth of projects in Iran takes the value of its projects to $223.2bn, more than double the total a year ago.

The reconstruction effort in Iraq has led to a 137 per cent rise in total project value over the past year.
