The MEED Projects index rose by 1.4 per cent at the end of March as the value of projects planned or under way in the Gulf climbed to $2.04 trillion.
The index is up 43.6 per cent on the previous year. The Omani market was again one of the strongest, with its portfolio of projects growing by 2.8 per cent. But it was the Qatari projects market that experienced the fastest growth, at a rate of 3.1 per cent. By contrast, the value of projects in Bahrain fell by 6.7 per cent.
