Biography: Guy Mehula is head of Middle East operations for the US’ Parsons, which won the project management contract for lines 1, 2 and 3 of the Riyadh metro scheme as part of a joint venture with French firms Egis and Systra.
Based in Abu Dhabi, Mehula has more than three decades of experience in facility construction, design, maintenance and programme management. He took up his current position in April 2011, having joined Parsons in 2010 as vice-president and programme executive in the US.
Before that, Mehula was chief facilities executive for the Los Angeles Unified School District in the US, where he led a $27bn capital construction programme. He has a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the US Naval Academy and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida in the US.
