Habtoor Leighton Group to build towers for the mixed-use Al-Habtoor City development
Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) has secured a AED1.45bn ($395m) contract with the Al-Habtoor Group for the construction of the Residential Towers project as part of the $3bn Al-Habtoor City development in Dubai.
The Residential Towers project is a mixed-use development located next to the proposed Dubai Water Canal, at the Business Bay end of the creek extension. The project comprises two 75-storey residential towers, a 52-storey residential tower, and a five-story retail podium.
On an adjacent site HLG is currently constructing the $515m Al-Habtoor City hotel development, which will be the Middle Easts largest integrated resort when it is completed in 2016.
HLGs associated business, HSSG, is doing the enabling works for the project. The total value of construction, including consultant costs and piling, but excluding interior fit-out and furniture, is AED1.62bn. Construction will commence as soon as enabling works are completed and the main project will be completed 32 months later.
In November, Al-Habtoor Group appointed UK-based consultant Atkins to design the towers for the Al-Habtoor City project.
