The local Hadi Haider has signed the SR 391 million ($104 million) contract to supply and install three substations in the Yanbu 2 Industrial Area. The client is the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu (RCJY).

Under the terms of the three-year lump-sum turnkey (LSTK) contract, Hadi Haider will design, procure, install, test and commission one 380-kV substation and two 115-kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substations. The project is aimed at expanding the distribution network to the new industrial area.

Hadi Haider was low bidder for the work when bids were submitted last May. It also recently completed the design elements of an estimated SR 161 million ($43 million) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to supply and install a 115-kV GIS substation at the Abu Hadriyah, Fadhili and Khursaniyah (AFK) oil field development. Installation will take a further 15 months. The client is SaudiAramco.
