Scheme involves construction of underpass at Sultan bin Khalifa roundabout
US-based CH2M Hill has been awarded a design and supervision contract for a new road project in Abu Dhabi.
Halcrow, which CH2M Hill owns, will work on an estimated AED140m ($38m) scheme that involves the construction of an underpass at Sultan bin Khalifa roundabout in the city of Al-Ain.
The project is aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the area and improving road safety in the city.
CH2M Hills largest project in Abu Dhabi is the Strategic Tunnels Enhancement Programme (STEP) that involves the construction of 41 kilometres of deep sewage tunnels.The US firm is the programme manager for the scheme.
