US-based firm will supervise refurbishment of 13-storey hotel
US-based Hill International has been awarded the project management and construction management services contract for the renovation of the Nile Ritz Carlton hotel in Cairo, Egypt.
The client for the project is the local Misr Hotels Company.
The renovation project will involve modernising the 13-storey hotel, which covers a total area of 64,000 square metres.
Hill is also currently managing the third phase of the Egyptian Grand Museum project. Located in Giza, located 20 kilometres southwest of central Cairo and 2km west of the Grand Pyramids, the project involves building a main exhibition hall for 100,000 artifacts, and a conference and learning centre.
The joint venture of the local Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) and Belgium’s Besix was recently awarded an estimated $810m contract to build the third phase of the Egyptian Grand Museum (MEED 22:12:11).
