The mixed-use development forms the commercial centre of the Barwa City residential development, which is under construction, and consists of office and residential buildings with ground-level shops along an 8.6 kilometre-long avenue.
Hochtief has been providing pre-construction services on the project that include the preparation of the land and outside fences as well as pre-preparation of infrastructure works.
The firm will now execute the project as the main contractor. It plans to subcontract the civil, structural, architectural, facade and mechanical, electrical and plumbing works. The scheme should be completed in early 2011 (MEED 28:10:08).
