Project owner Petrixo to use US groups jet fuel and diesel knowhow at $800m facility
US-based Honeywell subsidiary UOP has been selected to provide jet fuel and diesel technology for a new $800m biofuels refinery in Fujairah on the east coast of the UAE.
Project owner Petrixo Oil & Gas will use UOPs process technology to produce jet fuel and diesel from 500,000 tonnes a year (t/y) of renewable feedstocks.
Petrixo is planning to build a facility with a final capacity to produce 1 million t/y of fuel including biodiesel, jet fuel, naphtha and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)
The first phase of the Petrixo refinery project will build the capacity to produce 250,000 t/y of biodiesel and 100,000 t/y of edible oils such as soy bean, sunflower, corn and canola.
