Biography: Ian Bosward is programme director for US consultancy KBR, which in 2011 was appointed by Ashghal to provide project management services for 29 major road projects, including the remaining packages of the Doha Expressway.

Qatar is currently undertaking a roads development programme that involves spending $20bn on building and upgrading existing roads and related infrastructure up to 2015. Previously, Bosward was KBR project director for the Palm Jumeirah development in the UAE.

He also worked as KBR’s operations director in Libya on the Great Man-Made River Project. Bosward has 40 years’ experience as a chartered engineer and 24 of those have been working for KBR. During this time, he has worked for government ministries and semi-government organisations in the UK, Libya, Jordan, UAE and Qatar.
