The local Instruments Installation & Maintenance Company (Imco) is low bidder at KD19m ($70.4m) for a contract to provide maintenance services at the Mina Abdulla refinery.
Imco’s offer is marginally lower than the next best bid of KD19.7m ($73m) submitted by the local KCC Engineering & Contracting Company. Three other local contractors priced the work.
The five-year contract covers the maintenance and supervision of control and instrumentation systems at the 240,000-barrel-a-day refinery.
The client, state refinery operator Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), is expected to make an award soon.
