Dubai-based Innovo Build has confirmed that it has been awarded a contract by Abu Dhabi's Aldar Properties for package three of the Saadiyat Lagoons development on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi.
The scope of the contract involves the construction of 975 villas covering an area of 615,000 square metres.
Innovo said in a statement that its expertise in sustainable construction techniques and materials played a key role in securing this contract.
MEED exclusively reported in February that Aldar had awarded an estimated AED3bn ($820m) contract for the construction of the Saadiyat Lagoons project to local contractor Innovo Build.
The tender for the contract is understood to have been issued in August last year. The package is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The AED15bn ($4bn) overall development will include the construction of a total of 2,700 residential units, including four-, five- and six-bedroom villas and townhouses.
In January, MEED exclusively reported that Aldar had awarded a AED4.1bn ($1.2bn) contract for the construction of 1,102 villas as part of packages two and four of the development to a team of local contractors Trojan Construction Group and Arabian Construction Company.
Aldar’s 6.2-square-kilometre Saadiyat Lagoons development is located on the eastern side of Saadiyat Island. The proposed development will become home to more than 15,000 people.
In April 2022, Aldar Properties secured land worth AED3.7bn ($1bn) on Saadiyat Island for the Saadiyat Lagoons project.
