Iran to award 24 energy project contracts before 21 March

Energy official says packages that will be awarded are expected to be worth a total of $6bn

The Iranian government is planning to award 24 energy project contracts before the Iranian new year, which falls on 21 March, according to Mansour Moazami, Iran’s Deputy Minister for Industry, Mining and Trade.

Speaking at the International Petroleum Week conference in London, Moazami said all of the contracts had been tendered using the Engineering Procurement Construction and Financing (EPCF) model.

Moazami said that the packages are mostly onshore and that “around six” are offshore. He said the contracts include platforms, compressors, and offshore drilling activity.

All of the packages have an execution timeframe of around 3-5 years and have a total value of around $6bn, according to Moazami. It is thought that more energy sector EPCF contacts will be tendered after the Iranian new year on 21 March.

Moazami said the following EPCF projects have also gained government approval:

2 Production units of Koupal field

3 Ahvaz-Gonaveh pipeline

4 Omidlyeh-Aghajari 42 inch pipeline

5 Maroun-Omidiyeh 30 inch pipeline

6 Desalting unit of Maroun 3

7 Desalting unit of Koupal

8 Desalting unit of Gachsaran

9 Ahvaz pressure booster station

10 Omidiyeh pressure booster station

11 Goureh pressure booster station

12 Well drillings / workovers

13 Saiman-Siri gas pipeline

14 Completion, transportation, and instalment of F-18 platform in Forouzan field / drilling new wells in Forouzan field

15 Completion, transportation, and instalment of F-19 platform in Forouzan field / drilling new wells in Forouzan field

16 Completion, transportation, and instalment of D-22 platform in Doroud field / drilling new wells in Doroud field

17 Completion, transportation, and instalment of A-20 and A-21 platforms in Abouzar field / drilling new wells in Abouzar field

18 Completion, transportation, and instalment of S-1 platform in Salman field / drilling new wells in Salman field

19 Well drillings and workover in Salman field

20 Well drillings and workover in Sivand and Dena fields, located in Siri area

21 Pressure booster station at Kangan gas field

22 Pressure booster station at Homa gas field

23 Pressure booster station at Varavi gas field

24 Pressure booster station at Sorkhoun gas field

 

Moazami said the following green and brown field EPCF projects have also gained government approval:

1 Development of Balal gas field

2 Development of Salman gas field

3 Development of Forouzan field

4 Development of Esfandiyar field

5 Devopment of Hengam oil field

6 Development of Tous Gasn field

 

Iran has a track record of setting ambitious project contract award targets that it does not hit.
