Iran expands passenger fleet

The Iranian Minister of Road and Transportation, Hamid Behbahani, has said that the country has purchased 35 passenger planes during the last year in an effort to renew and expand its fleet, according to Fars news agency. Twenty-nine of the 35 purchased planes are Western-made and the other six have been manufactured in Eastern Europe, he said. The ministry has recently bought five airplanes from foreign companies 'which are all almost brand new,' he has added.
