Electricity minister holds talks with local council

The Iraqi Electricity Ministry has agreed to provide six villages in Talafar with electricity.

“A joint delegation of the Talafar council and the electricity distribution department in the district discussed pending issues with Electricity Minister Kareem Wahied and the security adviser of the ministry, General Hassan Wahb,” Fadel Ali Akbar Mourad told Aswat al-Iraq news agency on 6 October.

“The ministry agreed with the delegation’s request to provide the Talafar electricity department with equipment to raise its performance and provide six out of 13 villages with electricity,” he said.

The ministry will also provide Talafar with a mobile electricity generator.

Talafar is 60 kilometres northwest of Mosul in the Ninawa governorate.
