Jeddah hospitals face incubator shortage

27 June 2010

The health affairs department in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Jeddah has said that hospitals in the city do not have enough incubators to look after premature babies, Arab News has reported. "Yes we do admit the deficiency in the number of incubators in Jeddah despite the rising need for them," the department's director, Sami Badawood told the newspaper. "However, when there are no vacancies in government hospitals we solve the problem by transferring prematurely born babies to private hospitals. We also pay the charges."
