
Japanese group to expand Hassi Rmel field, says report citing Sonatrach internal documents
Japans JGC has won a $1.4bn contract to expand production at Algerias Hassi Rmel gas field, according to a media report.
The contract was awarded by state oil and gas group Sonatrach, UK news agency Reuters reported, citing an internal Sonatrach document.
The deal is the second major deal picked up by JGC in Algeria this year. In March, the company won a contract worth $339m for facilities to increase production at the Hassi Messaoud oil field.
