Line covers 6.1 kilometres of viaduct and five stations
Egypts National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) has awarded a joint venture of Orascom Construction and Arab Contractors a 590m ($672m) contract to execute phase 4B of the Cairo Metros Line 3.
The contract is split equally between the two firms. It calls for the construction of 6.1 kilometres of viaduct and five elevated stations.
The latest award brings the total value of work for Line 3 currently being executed by Orascom to an estimated 760m.

Orascom, in partnership with several firms, has previously won deals for the third phase of Line 3.
The civil engineering contract for phase 3 was awarded to an Orascom-led group that includes Frances Bouygues and Vinci, as well as Arab Contractors. The track works contract was awarded to another Orascom-led team that includes TSO of Frances NGE Group and ETF, a subsidiary of Frances Eurovia.
An Orascom-led team, which includes the UKs Colas Rail, Frances Alstom and Arab Contractors, had earlier won the civils and electromechanical work also for phase 3, worth an estimated $317m, of which $113m was accounted for by Orascom.
