Winner will build 65MW-75MW photovoltaic plant in southern Jordan
Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has invited companies to prequalify for the contract to build a photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Quweira, southern Jordan.
Companies have until 11 April to submit prequalification entries for the contract to build the 65MW-75MW PV plant planned for the southern area of Jordan.
In addition to installing the solar plant, the contract will involve the provision of all of the required civil infrastructure works, including access and internal roads, and the provision of operation and maintenance services when the plant is completed.
The solar project is the latest of several renewable energy schemes that Amman is moving ahead with as it seeks to boost the country’s power capacity. In January, firms were invited to tender for a PV solar plant at Azraq, located about 100km east of Jordan’s capital city, Amman.
In January, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources invited firms to prequalify for the contract to build a wind power project with a capacity of 65MW-75MW. Similar to the solar project, the contract will also include providing all of the required civil infrastructure and operation and maintenance of the scheme.
