Plant will reuse sludge and food to reduce electricity consumption of wastewater treatment plant

The Ministry of Water & Irrigation and the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) have invited contractors to submit prequalification documents for the planned tender of a co-digestion facility at a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).

Contractors have been invited to prequalify for the deal to design, build and operate the plant at the Muta Mazar WWTP. They have been given until 5 September to submit prequalification entries.

The co-digestion plant will reduce carbon dioxide emissions end electricity consumption of the Muta Mazar WWTP by using sludge and food residue as an energy source.

The scope of work includes the design, procurement, delivery, installation and commissioning of necessary equipment.

Germany’s p2mberlin is providing engineering advisory services for the project.
