Plant in south of country expected to export 500,000 tonnes a year of phosphoric acid
Jordanian Indian Fertilisers Company (Jifco) has started operating its $860m fertiliser complex in the industrial zone of Shidiyeh in southern Jordan.
The project was funded by the European Investment Bank and an agency affiliated with the Washington-based IMF, according to a report by the Jordan Times.
The complex will produce phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid and other products, with about 500,000 tonnes a year (t/y) of phosphoric acid expected to be exported to India and other countries. Annual revenues are expected to reach $325m.
