US-contractor will work across the region for the US Army Corps of Engineers
The US Army Corps of Engineers has awarded US-based KBR a contract to execute $3.8bn of construction projects in the US military’s Central Command area, which is made up of 20 countries, including Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the UAE. and Yemen.
The new programme has a two-year base performance period and three one-year options. According to the Corps of Engineers, a large majority of the task orders will include vital projects directly supporting the US military and US government in the various regions.
Under a previous contract, KBR successfully executed $620 million-worth of projects across 32 separate task orders for the Central Command.
