UK firm to replace glycol regeneration trains at Dukhan plant
Qatar Petroleum (QP) has awarded a contract to the UK’s Kentz Group to build gas facilities at Dukhan.
Kentz says the project covers the replacement of two existing glycol regeneration trains at QP’s Fahahil stripping plant in Dukhan.
The trains recover rich glycol from the gas stream for re-use.
This project includes engineering and detailed design, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
QP expects Kentz to complete the project by June 2011.
In May, Qatargas awarded a contract to Kentz for electrical, instrumentation and telecommunications work on a gas-loading facility at Ras Laffan (MEED 27:5:09).
In 2008, Kentz won a $208m contract for the design, supply and delivery of the main electrical systems for the Sidra Medical and Research Centre in Doha (MEED 1:6:08).
