Kharafi tipped to land Wafra Mall project in Kuwait

18 February 2009
The local Mohammed Abdulmohsin al-Kharafi & Sons has been tipped to land the Wafra Mall construction contract, after submitting the low-bid for the estimated KD15m ($52m) scheme.

The scope of the project covers the construction of a 25-storey building in the capital. The building will cover an area of 6,000 square metres.

A number of local firms were prequalified for the work, including Ahmadiah Trading & Contracting Company, Alghanim International Trading & Contracting Company and Mushrif Trading & Contracting.

Sources close to the project say that Kharafi is likely to be handed the contract, following its low bid.

The deadline for bids was 28 January. Wafra Real Estate is the client.
