
Plans involve a railway of up to 6,500 kilometres
The Ministry of Transport & Communications of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has completed initial conceptual designs for a rail link between the border of Iraqi Kurdistan with Turkey to the southern border of Sulaimaniyah province, the MEED Kurdistan Projects conference was told on 11 June.
Land & Rail Transport General Manager at the ministry Salah Rasheed said the plan envisaged a railway network with a length of up to 6,500 kilometres. It would connect Dohuk, Erbil and Sulaimaniyah.
