Ministry changes bid deadlines for Al-Zour and Mina Abdullah to March 2010
Kuwait’s Electricity & Water Ministry has delayed the bid deadline for a contract to build two drinking water complexes by several months.
It has postponed the deadline for bids on the Al-Zour 2 drinking water complex from 29 December to 9 March 2010.
The ministry has prequalified various companies and groups for the project. This includes Japan’s Hitachi Corporation with the local Mushrif and South Korea’s SK Engineering & Construction; Switzerland-based ABB; Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company; Canada’s SNC Lavalin; Japan’s Marubeni Corporation; Italy’s Saipem; Egypt’s The Arab Contractors; and Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, another South Korean contractor
It has also extended the bid submission date for the Mina Abdullah 2 water distribution complex scheme from 27 December to 16 February.
The ministry has prequalified the same eight companies for the contract, in addition to South Korea’s GS Engineering & Construction.
The winning bidders will design, procure, install, build and commission the two water complexes.
