Kuwait extends bids for Mina Abdullah station for third time

Kuwait's Electricity & Water Ministry has extended the bid deadline for the pumping station at Mina Abdullah for a third time.

Bids for the project were originally due in 18 November 2008. This was extended to the 6 January, then 27 January. Bids are now due on 8 February

The contract covers the construction and maintenance of the water distribution compound, and has an estimated value of KD85m ($296m).

According to a contractor considering making a bid on the project, the client has also said it will change part of the existing tender, which could indicate a change to the original design (MEED 20:1:09).

An award is now expected by May.
