Strikes have threatened the country’s largest source of foreign income

Kuwait’s Oil Minister Mohamed al-Busairi said on 11 October that Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has taken steps to prevent any disruption to oil exports as a result of strikes in the country. “There is no fear of any disruption caused by the strike of customs officials with regard to oil export,” he said.

Kuwait is one of the world’s largest oil exporters producing about 2.5 million barrels of oil a day.
