Kuwait tenders feasibility studies for Mutlaa housing development

Residential city will contain 25,000 residences

Kuwait’s Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has invited international accountancy firms to prequalify for a contract to provide economic and engineering technical feasibility studies for its Mutlaa housing project, located northwest of Kuwait city.

The feasibility studies will cover the economic and technical aspects of the proposed housing development

Once the technical and financial studies have been completed out the project will be tendered to investors as a build-operate transfer (BOT) contract.

Seven international accountancy firms have been invited to form partnerships with approved engineering firms and submit prequalification documents for the feasibility studies contract by 4 November.

The feasibility studies will cover the economic and technical aspects of the proposed housing development.

The following firms have been invited to participate in the prequalification process for the project:

  • Netherlands-based KPMG
  • Netherlands-based NBM Capital
  • US-based Deloitte
  • US-based Protiviti
  • UK-based Ernst & Young
  • UK-based Price Waterhouse Coopers
  • Oman-based Fincorp

The Mutlaa residential city will include 25,000 residences, 119 schools, 110 mosques, 10 government buildings, 10 police stations and 10 health centres.

The residential buildings will include 17,500 houses sized 400 square kilometres, 5,000 houses sized 460 sq m and 2,500 apartments. The whole development will cover a total area of 103 sq km.

The feasibility studies will also cover all of the related infrastructure and gas installations.

After the technical and financial studies have been completed out the project will be tendered to investors under a build-operate transfer (BOT) contract.
