07 May 2012

Expressions of interest due by 24 May

Kuwait’s Partnerships Technical Bureau (PTB) is planning to release the request for qualification (RFQ) for the first contract to develop a metro project by the end of June, according to sources close to the scheme.

Expressions of interest for the contract to procure rolling stock and systems for the metro are due to be received by 24 May, and the RFQ will follow shortly afterwards. The first package for track of the metro could also be released for bids later this year.

One source close to the project says that a few expressions of interest have already been submitted

The Kuwait metro is being developed as five separate public private partnership contacts and when complete will cover 160 kilometres and have 69 stations.
