Pipeline to connect Habshan, Ruwais and Shuwaihat
India’s Larsen & Toubro has submitted the lowest bid for a gas pipeline from Habshan to Shuwaihat through Ruwais.
The contractor submitted a bid of about $190m. Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), Punj Lloyd and Dodsal, both of India, and Italy’s Saipem also submitted commercial bids.
The Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (Gasco) tender calls for the construction of a 62-inch pipeline stretching 100 kilometres from the gas processing facilities in Habshan to Ruwais, then another 60km to Shuwaihat. The pipeline will carry methane and ethane-rich lean gas (MEED 28:5:11).
The scope of the project includes the two stretches of pipeline, as well as associated pipelines.
Saipem has been awarded the front-end engineering and design (feed) contract for the project.
