Larsen & Toubro win $8m Al-Koud roundabout contract in Oman

Muscat Municipality awarded the project to change the roundabout into a free-flow traffic interchange

OmanMuscat Municipality has awarded Larsen & Toubro Oman, the local subsidiary of India’s Larsen & Toubro, the estimated RO 3 million ($8 million) contract to convert Al-Koud roundabout, located near Seeb, into a free-flow traffic interchange.

Four other companies were understood to be competing for the work. Parsons Group Oman Engineering, the local subsidiary of the US’ Parsons International, is acting as the design consultant and project manager on the scheme, which is one of a number of major traffic improvements earmarked for the Muscat area. A tender is imminent to convert a roundabout to an interchange at Al-Maweleh (MEED 4:4:03).
